I honestly don’t get the premise of Razor/Aya pairing in Green Lantern: The Animated Series. Its like pairing up Superboy and Sphere in Young Justice. Pointless and weird.

She is a robot, and last I checked… ROBOTS AREN’T SUPPOSED TO HAVE FEELINGS. In order for a robot to have feelings, it has to be programmed like that. And then become an independent being with feelings on its own without having that programmed. I understand that shes a “special” robot because she is the program in a Green Lantern ship, but its stupid.

Plus, when Hal told her she couldn’t be a Green Lantern, I’m pretty sure he meant, “No, you can’t be a GL. Thats final.”

So stop being so pushy Aya.

Plus, she gets her arms and legs cut off or taken by the enemies all the time. I feel like she is more of a burden to the team. Please, just stay in the ship.

So. Why the heck are the creators pairing up Razor with her?

Razor. The guy who destroyed a planet. The guy who was evil. The guy who became evil because his wife was killed. The guy who became evil and went to the evil side and it turns out it was the people he was working for that killed his wife. Razor was the guy who was torchered, depressed, and actually wanted to die (and possibly commit suicide, though it wasn’t mentioned, we all know it was obvious. Hal had to take away his ring.). Razor, the guy who after all this realized that he wasn’t evil and could do more with his life. The guy who switched sides.

So why are we pairing up one of the most developed, complicated, and most interesting characters with a robot.

Who can’t do shit.

..Last I checked, Aya wasn’t a Robot. She’s an Artificial Intelligence, built to think, react and make choices built off of experiences which to me seems a lot more intelligent and more “human” than a robot. I spent a many years doing Lego Robotics and the thing about robots is they ALWAYS do what they’re told. Aya is no Robot, she was built and programmed to make calculated decisions based off of her own understanding. She is at first glance, and A. I. who runs on the willpower energy that powers the lantern rings, but she is much more than that as she has developed into quite her own person.

Aya may never become an “Official” Green Lantern, but she will forever fight alongside the GLs, as a GL, and as far as I’m concerned, she’s just as good as any of the other Lanterns we’ve seen so far.

Think about what you just said there. Had Aya “Stayed in the ship” Razer would not have been able to rescue the crew from the Prison in the third episode and they never would’ve been able to save the ship from sinking into the pinhole in the fourth episode. In episode 5 she helped conduct the search to find the late Duloc (Sp?).

She gets captured in the Sixth episode while helping Drusa, due to her naivety, and then while downloading important files on Shard in the seventh episode, she gets captured by Atrocitus. Anyone who runs into Atrocitus is pretty much dead-meat, but the files she downloaded help the crew of the interceptor with the war significantly, not to mention, the whole “Break Razer out of Shard” plan would not have been able to succeed had she not been able to help.

Aya continues to demonstrate her importance to the team. An Episode that especially highlights this would be (in my opinion) “In Love and War” as she is the one to actually FIND Kilowog, and then proceeds to fight pretty epic-ly against Galea, and then the other Star Sapphire Gaurds. In “Regime Change” Razer complimented her on her sharp-shooting skills while in the Interceptor, and she also saved his life that episode. 

She also had quite the chance to shine in “Invasion”, the second-to-last-episode, and I’m really starting to wonder WHY you don’t think she pulls her own weight, as she’s definitely saved the crew and gotten them out of tough situations MANY times. 

I’m not going to try too hard to explain why Razaya is an amazing ship, because I feel the need to first express how amazing and very well-developed Aya is. We’ve been able to see her “grow up” throughout the entirety of the first season, and it’s been pretty amazing.

She has such a deep fondess and attachment to the whole crew, she was so hurt that she was being forced to betray them, and everything they stood for.

As for Razer, he has grown to care very deeply for and yes, even love Aya, as she crept her way into his life and made it just a tad bit brighter. She, and the rest of the crew, have given him a second chance and hopefully a wanting to live his life whereas he obviously did not want to before.

Now, I know I can never make you like a character or ship you don’t like, but I can at least explain why I like the character/ship, and hope that maybe, just maybe, you can gain a better appreciation or understanding for it too.

And pfffffft because I’m no good with words and closings I’m just gonna randomly say that I have no idea how you could not like Razer/Aya. I just do not understannnnd. *___*
